Hello, i'm Alice. Broadcaster and Musician...

...with over 15 years of experience in the music and broadcasting industry, my background includes, creative workshops, LAMDA study and advanced speech development training through my career in broadcasting. Throughout this journey, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the power of voice, how it connects us, shapes our identity, and helps us understand the world around us.

As a mother of two, I’ve experienced firsthand just how vital early communication is. The inspiration for Songbirds came from a powerful moment with my daughter. At the tender age of one, she was able to express that she felt unwell in the middle of the night and needed a doctor -  moment that ultimately led to her receiving urgent medical care. (Blue lights, the lot!) It struck me how much of her early communication had been supported by music: rhythm, melody, and repetition had helped her find her voice.

This experience sparked my commitment to exploring the powerful connection between music and language development. After extensive research and conversations with parents - including those raising children with additional needs -  it became clear that music can be a life-changing tool in helping children express themselves, build confidence, and reach developmental milestones.

At Songbirds, we’ve woven together educational and evidence-based methods, musical joy, and child-centred learning to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
