Q&A
Answering your questions!
Q1. Is this speech therapy?
No...what we ARE is a music-led early communication curriculum, with fun, rhythm and sensory-play at the forefront.
Our sessions weave in:
-
call-and-response
-
rhyme and rhythm awareness
-
early phonics foundations
-
vocal play and imitation
-
Makaton-supported songs
These all help support your little learner’s speech and language in a developmentally supportive, play-based way.
Q2. How are your classes inclusive?
Inclusivity is at the heart of Songbirds to ensure all of the fun...without overwhelm! Our curriculum has been developed with input from a local SEN Lead at a Surrey nursery, ensuring every child can access and enjoy the activities.
We use:
-
Makaton signing to support understanding
-
Sensory-rich props that suit different learning styles
-
Predictable routines to help children feel safe
-
Calm, structured transitions to reduce overwhelm
-
Gentle, flexible participation so children can join in at their own pace
All venues are step-free, accessible, and have on-site parking.
